WAIT! WHAT IS A GRADING SCHEME?
In Canvas world, a “Grading scheme” is the letter grade scale of what to convert the gradebook totals to a letter grade. This shows up for you as an instructor beside the total % and for the students when they click ‘Grades’ in your canvas course at the top right of their screen.
HOW DOES CANVAS KNOW OUR NCSC GRADING SCALE?
At the admin level, the eLi department can create a custom grading scheme. Per the new policy we went in and created the “NCSC – POST SU15” grading scheme to match our mandatory NCSC grading scale.
UM… WHAT IF I HAVE BEEN USING THE WRONG GRADING SCHEME/SCALE?
Canvas will automatically apply the new correct scheme once you have followed the steps int he tutorials above. You may want to notify your students, but mechanically this on the fly update will not cause any issues in Canvas to any previously entered grades.
